New materials for simulation software |

Dear researchers I would humbly ask for guidance on what are the properties of a material that need to be tested in order for the results to be entered into a simulation software. Any help or referral to this is highly appreciated. Kind Regards, Michael from South Africa | |

In theory, any metal that can be melted and poured into a mould can be simulated. In practice, simulation is limited to only those metals and processes for which relevant data is available. This includes thermo-physical properties of metal like specific heat, thermal conductivity, latent heat, density, viscosity at various temperatures and process characteristics like mould density and interfacial heat transfer coefficients |
